You often hear of the phrase reaching your full potential; It’s a commonly used expression. We all would like to reach our full potential whatever that may be but what if there was theory behind your actions? Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology proposed by Abraham Maslow in his 1943 paper A Theory of Human Motivation  and is still held in high esteem by motivational management practitioners, sociologists and psychologists. Maslow used the highest achieving percentage of college students to base his theories and saw no use in analysing those who struggle to fulfil their goals. With that in mind, how do you compare to Maslow’s standards? Are you getting the most of your employment? Should your job role go beyond just paying your bills and giving you good work friends, you could be on your way to teaching others how get the best out of work life- reaching “Self-Actualisation”.
